Image upscale / quality restoration

Upscale by 2× / 3× / 4× / 8×: double the size per pass with stepwise resampling, then bring edges back with USM sharpening and denoising. Drag the center divider to compare original vs upscaled.

🔍 What this doesMathematical interpolation (stepwise 2× resampling) + USM sharpening + 3×3 median denoising quality restoration, Not an AI super-resolution model: it won't invent details that don't exist. For detail that doesn't exist in the source, use an AI upscaler — this tool doesn't invent it.

Stepwise resampling opens new canvases during upscaling; images over 8192px on any side are skipped with a reason (browser canvas limit). With denoising on, each pixel is a 3×3 median — large images get noticeably slower.

How to use

  1. Drop in an image and pick 2× / 3× / 4× / 8×
  2. Optionally enable USM sharpening and denoise (slower on large images)
  3. Export and compare with the before/after slider

FAQ

Is this AI super-resolution?
No. It uses stepped 2× resampling to avoid jaggies, plus sharpening and denoise. It won't invent detail that isn't there.

Why is 8× slow?
Pixel count grows quadratically — 8× is 64× the pixels. Prefer 2×–4× for large photos.
